Homemade Halloween Decorations

Executive Summary about homemade halloween decorations by Hege Crowton , Joshua Knowles , Dominique Halet
Once late September rolls around, it is pretty much impossible to not notice the significant numbers of Halloween decorations for sale in the stores. When it comes to the subject of Halloween themed decorations, most people will assume that these decorations need to be purchased in a store. While purchasing decorations for Halloween in a store is an easy and effective way of acquiring these items, it is not the only way to acquire them. In fact, it may be preferable to completely avoid purchasing these decorative items in a store altogether and instead make the decorations yourself with your kids.
Far too often, the concept of collective family fun is taken out of the Halloween season. This has essentially reduced the Halloween season for many to sitting in front of the television set and watching reruns of old horror films. While this can be somewhat fun, its pales in comparison to the more active Halloween season of years past. Making your own Halloween style decorations can be the answer.
Now, while some may assume that making Halloween (homemade) decorations would be difficult the reality is that any variety of decorations can be made using construction paper, non-oil based paint, and the old standby, Elmer’s glue.

Homemade Halloween Decoration Ideas For The Home
Halloween suggests pictures of spooky ghosts, black cats, dark witches, and flying bats.
Here is the basic craft equipment needed:

* Various craft paintings: black, white, orange, etc. (pots and spraying cans)
* Gold and silver paint (spraying cans)
* Colored pipe cleaners
* Black, white, silver and gold markers

Obviously, most homes already have basic craft supplies like scissors, tape and glue.

Spiders

To make these spiders, you need an egg carton.
Paint them black.
Paint their eyes with white or orange paint.
Voila! Instead of buying new Halloween ornaments, paint your old ones according to your needs: gold or silver paint for a luxurious decoration, for instance. With a black, white, silver or gold marker, draw Halloween shapes on these new pumpkins such as black cat, white witch, black mansion...

Children enjoy bright colors so you can paint your pumpkins in several different bright colors such as orange, green, blue, red, yellow, etc. Draw Halloween figures on these pumpkins. For teenagers ornament, paint pumpkins with metallic colors, glow-in-the-dark, glitter, etc.

Pumpkin Jar

If you already have one or more, fill a glass jar with small plastic or ceramic pumpkins; alternate pumpkins with maple berries and leaves.

Homemade Halloween Decoration (Lights)

Here is an almost free Halloween craft! Paint small jars in black, white and orange. Draw some Halloween shapes on them and insert a tea light candle in each jar. Place the Halloween candles on a black tray, insert mini pumpkins, maple berries and leaves, etc.

If you have larger jars, you may paint them as well and pour in Christmas lights.

Halloween Candelabra

Paint candelabra with black paint.
Hang cobwebs on the candelabra for a spooky Halloween effect!

Halloween Tree

Put bare branches in a vase.
Paint small Christmas tree balls black, white, and orange.
Draw Halloween figures on them.
You may also create your own Halloween tree ornaments such as ghosts, black cat, witches, and spiders cut out cardboard.

Tip: make a uncommon Halloween garland with popcorn painted orange.

Make Your Own Halloween Decorations
Fall, with all its spectacular colors, is finally here.
Don’t you just love decorating your house and yard for all these seasons? Let’s face the facts; it gets very expensive doing this year after year. So how do you limit your spending? If you have not done anything like this before it may sound like a drag but believe me, seeing your own homemade decorations around your house will give you a great feeling.
Not to mention if you have kids. Your friends and family will love getting gifts that are homemade. Homemade gifts from the grandkids are guaranteed a success and will take center stage on the mantel.
Arts and crafts can be made into a fun time for the whole family. If you have never done this before and you do not know how, don’t worry.
Happy Halloween!
